Selected Myth: The Legend of Icarus

Your Descent

Would you rather die from your failure or your ambition?
Arrogance looks unflattering upon your bloodied bones.

Didn’t your mother ever teach you that
pride goeth before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall
?

Hover here.

For in this place you should stay
immortalized in your mediocrity

hot
Until the wings get         or
soaked.

But now you will feed the Earth,
because even I cannot invent
beyond Death’s embrace.

My sweet son,
take these wings to the heavens,
for they may mistake you for one of their own.

You’re not getting in without some help.
